Bio
Déda Maldonado was raised by an artist in one of the most vibrant cities in the world, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her mother is an accomplished painter with exhibits in Brazil, U.S.A and Europe. Her own artistic efforts spanned several forms of arts and crafts until she discovered fiber arts, also known as art quilts. Unlike conventional quilts they are displayed on walls and not on beds. Since her first work she was so impassioned with this art form because it encompassed a diversity of media, textures and techniques. She hopes to grow her own art as well as awareness and appreciation of fiber art. |
